Farm Tower

Farm Tower

My project is a farm tower. It is there to produce a lot of food on a small place. It consists of seven floors and a detached house.

Above the detached house on the ground, you have seven floors, where you can plant food or can have animals living there. The tower is round and on its roof is a rainwater collection system, whose water you can use for everything in the house, because some of the water is filtered so that you can drink it. Wastewater is to be used in the toilets and it can be recycled so you can use it for food production on the various floors. On the edge of the roof surrounding the rainwater collection system are windmills, which produce energy for the tower. But not only the windmills produce energy, the solar panel system on the southern, eastern and western side of the rainwater collection system does too. The surplus energy will be stored in batteries for not so sunny days.

The tower produces everything it needs to be self-sustainable. The tower has a small carbon footprint, because the farmer has a very short way to his work and when he or his family go out they could use public transportation. Reducing the need to travel and encouraging modes of transport with low or zero carbon emissions help reducing emissions. Another aspect is that you can build the tower everywhere, on the country and in the city. It is a very sustainable solution for farming and farmers.
