Right now, the biggest issue on earth is the major global warming. Every second,
the earth will heated up more and more. We can not feel any difference, although in
the future we all will see the changes it makes.
Since the middle 19th century, the temperature on earth has risen 1 degree. That
probably does not sound like a lot now, still the difference it makes is huge.
Through a few decades, one degree has risen. Imagine if our CO² level rise even
more, the world would be in crisis if we continue like this. The climate changes
would change the living of plants, animals, humans and even the sea. Some
animals will move further up the mountains to escape the warmth that is coming.
Global issues would not just change the species we have, it would change the
world in general. The summers will become warmer and longer lasting. The winters
becomes colder yet shorter, with more snow. Also, storms and typhoons would
develop a lot stronger because of the water slowly heating up.
Scientists predict the sea level to rise a lot when we hit year 2040, which is a big
problem for cities and islands lower than 2m height, such as the Maldives and New
York. Only we humans can prevent the global warming from hitting us this early. To
help preventing the global warming, you could ride your bike to school or work,
maybe take the bus when the winter is coming. You could buy an electric car also,
since it does not let out any CO². You could save a lot of energy, time and water by
showering 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes, it makes a huge difference if everyone
could do so, and continue with it for a long time. Little things such as turning off the
water while brushing your teeth, filling the dishwasher full before you wash it,
recycling and not traveling by planes several times a year.
I think the future could be fantastic if we tighten up our leak of CO² to the
atmosphere, slowing down the heating process. If we continue as we do now,
leaking this much CO² that we soon would have to go out with medicine masks, I
think earth would come to an end in a thousand years or so. Especially us humans
are going to have a hard time living here. I have no doubt in the stories of the ice
melting, sea level rising, typhoons, storms, tornados, snowstorms, warmth and cold
that is predicted. I just hope we could change this before it is too late.
My final point in this matter, is that I hope the world could be encouraged to take
action now. This is not going to affect our parents future, but us. The future
generation. We want the world to be a clean, safe place with good climate for us
and the species we live with. We do not want heavy weather, rising sea and
mutating animals. At least not an destroyed earth.
